This saree carries lines from Rabindranath Thakur’s ““হঠাৎ দেখা”” (Hothat Dekha) on weave. It is strange that a poem written in 1936, almost towards the last days of the poet’s life can continue to inspire generations in their creative outputs. Two of my favourite films are heavily drawn from this one poem - Jatugriha (1964) directed by Tapan Sinha and produced by Uttam Kumar Films Private Limited and Ijaazat (1987) directed by Gulzar.
I have named the saree after Sudha, the protagonist in Ijaazat played by Rekha. It is my tribute to memories that linger in our minds like pomegranate hues, all red and raw. And time, like it does to the wine, adds to its redness.

SUDHA - DEEP RED (STR)
I have picked up numerous sarees from.Parama and each saree is a creative piece of art filled with history, culture and love.
Fulfilled expectations. Thank you. I hope you develop more poetic conceptual saris.
