The last one year and a half, our minds looked like a children’s park. Slides, swings, roller coasters, carousels. Interrupted by children’s laughter…that intermittently soothed the chaos, like magic and music.
In these uncertain times, we started bonding with our homes in the most beautiful ways. I came to know that the most beautiful shadows of branches and leaves are found on our bathroom tiles. I figured how the garlic smells in each stage of cooking mutton. I know how books, clothes and curtains, smell differently and yet equally beautiful, when soaked in the sun.
Our next work is a balance between home and outside. Balmy monsoon afternoons and stepping out in the sun – both folded together like Ma’s sarees. Watching the greens and greys from lacey curtains on one hand and meeting a friend for coffee on the other. Oh and putting that red lipstick after months!
It is marrying “lazy” with “wearing bra”, Barir chaa with café caramel coffees.
We named it KARUNA. A woman who can make an ordinary bed linen look like a dream, just by stretching on it. And, books, curtains and clothes smell differently and yet equally beautiful, in her presence.
