STORY:

When I was just a little girl, my mother made me wear Good Companions frocks. The stunning hand embroideries, laces, smocking details on the chest and sleeves, applique – this shop on Russell Street was a wonderland. I have also grownup seeing exquisite petticoats from The Home of Bengal Hand Embroidery on Mirza Ghalib Street, off Park Street. Crocheted circumference, dainty embroideries on under skirts. These memories play a huge roll in this blouse.

Over sized collar with roses embroidered, this blouse has endless details. The sleeve ends are gathered in a way that they are flexible and can be stretched. The waist of the blouse has cut work details. Fabric is handwoven Jamdani.

I have named her Priyo Bondhu after Good Companion.
