STORY:
Handwoven cotton saree woven in Phulia, West Bengal, this one has broen and red borders with woven details of paisleys. On the body of the saree, Alpona motifs and inspirations from Mughal architecture are hand block-printed in red and brown. The saree is butter soft and is named after Aparna played by Sharmila Thakur in Aranyer Dinratri by Satyajit Ray.
