STORY:

This one is a mix of the white-pale pink shades of lotus blooming on blue waters. The colours are Durga Pujor Shoshti Shokaal. Sublime yet standing out. Dainty yet casual. A traditional twist to the razorback.

Also, this is our first proper sleeveless blouse. Ms. Purba Ray, an author, had written, “Before the world discovered a fashion phenomenon called sleeveless, sleeveless discovered the Bengali woman. This was the time that Marxism was still a respected ideology in Bengal when the Bhodromohila embraced the sleeveless blouse and sent the dormant hormones of the bhodrolok on an overdrive.” Sleeveless blouse was her Bhictoria’s Secret.

I have grown up in a Bengal where my grand mother, mother, mashis, mami and everyone around wore sleeveless blouses. Irrespective of Sunny Deol or drinking-straw arms.

This Pujo, I made one too! Old-school Calcutta. Yet timeless.
