Our new work for Pujo is introducing striped patterns in the traditional Gawrod saree. Quintessential red and white run along the length of the saree. They also overlap and create a beautiful “Dudhey Aalta” hue in the six yards. A twist to the Durey Sharees of Bengal by recreating them on Mulberry Silk, handwoven in Murshidabad district of Bengal. Guarded by golden borders on two sides, this saree is perfect for the Pujo. We have named her ‘Dudhey Aalta’ – milk and rose.

Always avoided Gorod before, hearing them crumpling like newspaper. Dudhe Alta saree has totally changed my perspective about this graceful weave of Bengal. Thanks to Parama!
