STORY:

Photographed also in Pondicherry, these tile patterns are quintessential Athangudi. 
Athangudi tiles are cement made vibrant tiles, but unlike the machine pressed and produced mosaics, they are handmade over glass surfaces. 
Their distinct patterns, earthy tones, intricate workmanship has always been a subject of fascination to me.
Translating them on fabric was very difficult but we are thrilled to have done them.
