STORY:
Handwoven cotton saree woven in Phulia, West Bengal, this one has sabeki ganga jamuna borders with woven details of paisleys. On the body of the saree, paisleys are hand block-printed in yellow and on that Machh (fish) motif alpona recreated on blocks are printed. The saree is butter soft and is named after Jaya played by Late Kaberi Basu in Aranyer Dinratri by Satyajit Ray.
