When we were younger, the three months preceeding Pujo would not only mean bamboo stacks and clay idols being made in full swing with unberable traffic jam, but it would also mean planning “Chhuti and Berate Jawa”. Of all the things that a Bengali loves, I think pashbalish and “being a tourist” are their most favourite. Both are dearer than Boroline.
And rushing to Ticket reservation counters at the break of dawn, the heartbreaks of Waiting List tickets, the joy of winning a lottery even if the ticket shows RAC and booking holiday homes immedietely thereafter. Anticipation for travels were as strong as the wait for Pujo.
The lace on the dress reminds me of my childhood Pujor Jama, all our childhood travels and, happier days.
This dress comes with a surprise element. We reveal that in the evening.
