WHITE BIMALA (STR)

Story:

On white handwoven cotton, green red and yellow Neem Pata phool/ Tepati motifs are handwoven. When this saree came alive, it reminded me of Bimala of Ghore Baire. I remembered how Ray made sketches of her costume – the blouses and sarees. Those traditional Dhakai jamdanis she wore. This is our humble attempt to recreate the age old Neem pata phool motifs of erstwhile Bengal through the weavers of present Bengal.
